Nesbit (1858-1924) was one of the pioneers of the fantasy genre for children. Her topics and imagination are timeless which is why 100 years later her books are still popular. These stories are both exciting and fanciful and always with children finding creative ways to solve seemingly impossible situations. The Railway Children is appealing to train lovers of all ages. Three children, after moving from London to the countryside, find there amusement and adventure watching the trains, waving to passengers and befriending the train folke.
